Testimonials from the front line
Three Ukrainian theater makers who recently fled to Amsterdam – Bogdana Orleanova, Iana Gudzenko and Alesia Andrushevska – present in collaboration with de Toneelmakerij: Witnessing U- a benefit evening on April 12, 8PM in the housetheater of de Toneelmakerij (Lauriergracht 99c in Amsterdam). During this evening, Ukrainian and Dutch actors act out various testimonies.
The makers are in daily contact with friends, family and fellow theater makers who are currently in the Ukrainian war zone. They hear stories about survival in besieged Mariupol, how four teenagers deal with the sitiution, how a couple from Lviv spends their first day of war, the LGBTQI+ community and colleagues who join the Territorial Defense Forces in Kyiv.
In text and video, the audience is taken to the war zone.
The program is in English and takes about 60 minutes. Afterwards there’s an opportunity to have a bite and drink in the foyer.
